Keep in mind that you have a group project, the Passive and Active Transport digital video, due next Wednesday (September 16th) by the end of the class period!! Monday September 7th

Cell Theory
  • What is the definition of cell theory?
  • Using the internet, research cell theory and write a 2 paragraph explanation of the theory, the theorists and how they came up with the theory. Cite your sources and make sure you are using reliable ones!!
  • The 2 paragraph essay is due tomorrow (Tuesday, September 8th).


Tuesday September 8th



  • Go to your Inspiration account and create a web chart depicting the discovery of the cell theory and how it has affected the process of science. This will take up most of your class time. Submit these to me via the assignment drop box by the end of class today.

Wednesday Septemer 9th

  • Even Your Parts Have Parts!
    • Watch this cool video! It will show you how even your cells, along with all plants and animals, have smaller parts among them!
  • Check out these Web Sites for images of cell structures and the explanation of each structure's vital function! Be sure to take careful notes! You will need this information for future assignments!
  • Go to VENN Diagram Worksheet and print. Fill in the VENN diagram to compare and contrast plant and animal cells.
  • Choose a cell structure, either plant or animal. Using Microsoft Word, you will create a single page flyer that informs your reader of the vital role your specific structure plays in the life of the cell and how that, in turn, affects daily life of the living plant or animal. These must contain at least 2 graphics. Make them fun! You can include puzzles or anything that will engaged your reader. These will be handed out at the Science Fair next month. This assignment must be printed and turned in to me by Friday, September 11th.

Thursday September 10th


  • Using PowerPoint and the information you have learned over the last few days in class, create a 6-slide presentation about either a plant or aminal cell. This presentation should include all of the parts, a BRIEF description of each part's function, image of the type of cell and all of your cited sources. This presentation will be due on Monday September 14th. This should take up the majoirty of your class time.
  • A look into tomorrow!!!

Friday September 11th

I have assigned everyone into 5 different groups. In these groups, you will use Movie Maker to create a digital video about Active and Passive Transport! This will take up the majority of your classtime. Use this time to research the two processes and gather your information. Remember, this is a GROUP activity. Everyone will be evaluated for participation, as this a a good portion of your grade for this assignment.


  • Must be at least 2 minutes in length
  • Include names of all members
  • Must have smooth transistions from each slide
  • Must include background music or voice-overs
  • Give proper credit to all of your reliable sources
